Drum workshops on alternate Fridays in Ludlow

Have a 'taster' of West African drumming for adult beginners in Ludlow on alternate Fridays, from 11am to 1pm. Free sample for 15 minutes from 11.00. If you like it, stay on for the rest of the session for £8 inc. drum hire. Booking essential: rhythms@thedrumcoach.org

You can join a regular workshop series for £8 per session inc drum hire/£7 if you have your own drum. Lots of basics to learn first, then the level will get progressively harder so good drummers will have ‘stretchy’ patterns to learn and play!

Dates: on Fridays, every 1st & 3rd weeks.

Drum Days - a half day drum experience

It's a fun, indoor/outdoor workshop featuring a mix of easier to learn rhythms and some more tricky rhythms for intermediate drummers. It's not for complete beginners, so if in doubt about your level of playing do ask me!

What's the drum day all about? We will play some existing and some new extended rhythms to stretch you a little and to learn to play in a bigger ensemble. No 'walk of shame' drum solos (unless you want to!). We will major on djembe playing of course, but we will also play dun-duns so we can have some fun playing the 'bass parts' too. This workshop is not for complete beginners - to at least 'improver' or 'intermediate' level. If in doubt ask me. Booking essential.
What are the details? Times: From 10am starting with a warm-up, to 1.30pm.
Venue & location: to be advised

Cost: £12 half day + drum hire £1.00 if needed.

What do I need to do now? Make a booking at: rhythms@thedrumcoach.org now - for existing beginners and improvers only. I will be making a contribution to my various West African charities/good causes after the workshop. I look forward to hitting the skin with you soon!

Feedback:

"Just to say how much we enjoyed our morning drumming with you! We found your teaching methods really good, even though some of us lost it occasionally!
The feedback from everyone was brilliant so thank you and well done!
Ann - arts group

"I love coming drumming, I really enjoy it, particularly as we have 2 new people so I can temporarily feel my skills are superior!"

Best wishes, Ailsa

Thank you Peter for a really good session today. I've already started practising some of the rhythms... Jackie (new drummer)

"Hi Peter, Thank you for running our drum session last night. The evening was everything we'd hoped for and more. To pitch a session perfectly, for such a variety of ages, physical ability/mobilty and confidence, was brilliant!"
