Thanks for visiting my site. My name is Peter Welch aka 'thedrumcoach', an experienced 'world music' percussionist and drum teacher. I run frequent drum workshops in South Shropshire mainly around Church Stretton, Ludlow and Shrewsbury.

The concept behind thedrumcoach is to make funky West African rhythms available to adults and teens (16+) in a friendly and fun learning environment. It's a not-for-profit enterprise so contributions go to various good causes and charities in West Africa, mainly in The Gambia.

thedrumcoach makes frequent donations to The Gambia Academy: https://thegambiaacademy.org/ where, besides main education, they teach kids the art of balafon, dance, drumming, kora, etc. Help these kids have a better life - 'building bright futures on ancient foundations'.
